MVMS Chorus Performs at the Giants Game

Play Ball!  Every year, chorus members in the seventh and eighth grades sing the National Anthem at San Francisco's AT&T park before a Giants game.  This year, the game was on May 16 against the Chicago White Sox.
Part of the proceeds from tickets sold at the game benefit Kiddo.  This money helps to pay for school supplies and activities such as art, music and chorus.
Dina, an eighth grader in upper pod, sang at the game last year when she was in seventh grade chamber choir.  "It was really fun to sing in front of all those people," said Dina, who plans to continue singing in the chorus on through high school.  "I liked seeing our faces on the big screen."
Jessica Stewart, who has organized the Giants game chorus performances since 2003, accompanied chorus members at the game. Although she has been to the games several times, she always enjoys seeing the singers' reactions.  "It's great to see the kids’ faces when they hear the crowd cheering," said Ms. Stewart.
Despite the brilliant singing by the MVMS Chorus, the Giants lost the game 0-2.
