Commercial uses
Some  Commercial garaphite is made by treating petroleum coke, it looks like tar and remains after the prosesing cure oil in an oxegen free oven, carbon was first used  in great amounts to make refrigerants and propellants for aerosol cans, and as a solvent.

Forms

There are three forms of carbon, they are: graphite, diamond, and fullerines. There are two forms of graphite, alpha and beta. Natural graphite’s have about 30% beta form and synthetic materials are only made of alpha. Carbon melts at high temperatures 35500 degrees C, and  is found in glasses and is used in  making more synthetic materials because it is not always known to react with people, animals and plants. Carbon is found in nine- tenths of all known compounds, it is the 6th most common element making up .2% of the entire earths crust.

History
Carbon comes from the Latin word carbo (charcoal), diamonds have been found in kimberlite of volcanic pipes, found in South Africa, Arkansas and a few other places. Recently some diamonds have been taken from different places in the ocean, such as the floor off the Cape of Good Hope. About 30% of diamonds in the US are made synthetically.

Carbon was prehistorically found. A lot of it is found in the sun, stars, comets and atmospheres of most planets.

  imprtance

carbon is very important to the world today, most people use it every day in a garaphite pencils,  it makes up about .2% the entair eathers crust, and is nine thenths of all known compounds it mixes with almost anything, its is used to make many synthetic matricals that r used in day to day activitys,  beacuse it is not known to react with people plants and animals. carbon was firs used to make refrigerants and propellants for aerosl  cans as a soulvent

health

carbon tetacholoride can somtimes be found in both outdoor and indoor air, it can hurt the human liver kidneys and cental nervous system. after a long term inhaleation or oral expoure can creat  cronic damage, if exposed for long amounts of time difrent types of crabon can help cause cancers and somtimes liver tumors.
