Carbon comes from the Latin word carbo (charcoal), diamonds have been found in kimberlite of volcanic pipes, found in South Africa, Arkansas and a few other places. Recently some diamonds have been taken from different places in the ocean, such as the floor off the Cape of Good Hope. About 30% of diamonds in the US are made synthetically.
Carbon was prehistorically found. A lot of it is found in the sun, stars, comets and atmospheres of most planets. |
