Uranium is a silvery-white metal that’s also really dense. It is more plentiful then mercury and silver. Uranium is also ductile and malleable.The Elements that Uranium combines with are nonmetal such as Oxygen, Sulfur, Chlorine, Fluorine, Phosphorus, and Bromine. Uranium also dissolves in acids and reacts with water. When forming compounds it turns a greenish-yellowish color. Uranium is the heaviest element found in nature. It most commonly found in pitchblende, carnotite and uranintie. It’s can also be found in phosphate rock and monazite sands. 1% uranium oxide and dating back to 79 A.D., has been found near Naples, Italy. |
